Historical Association Conference FAQs

We are delighted to host the very first Historical Association Annual Conference hybrid event. Our hybrid Conference will give delegates the opportunity to choose to attend virtually or in person on Friday 13 and Saturday 14 May 2022 at the Bristol Marriott Hotel City Centre.

You can find out more about attending in-person including our policy on COVID by visiting the registration page.

All sessions offered within the virtual programme will be streamed live and available to watch post-event on demand for both in-person and virtual delegates from Monday 30 May until Friday 29 July 2022.

Please find below some FAQs to assist with your planning:

In-person Delegates

Booking will open mid-January 2022 for in-person bookings and will be available until Wednesday 11 May 2022. In the meantime, you can register your interest by emailing conference@history.org.uk.

All in-person delegates will be able to move to attend virtually at any point. You will be required to contact conference@history.org.uk. If this move is made prior to Thursday 5 May 2022, you will be given a partial refund. If this is done after Thursday 5 May 2022 no refund will be offered but you can still move to attend virtually.

If you haven’t received the full joining instructions via email by Friday 6 May 2022, please call +44 (0) 1904 702165 or email conference@history.org.uk.

Choosing your sessions

On signing up for the in-person Conference you will be required to select the sessions you would like to attend. You can change your mind and opt to do another session at any time leading up to the event.

Please click here, add click the already registered button.  Then enter your email and confirmation number and you can re-select your choices. Please note if your choice doesn’t appear in the available list, it means that this session is fully booked, so we are therefore unable to guarantee a place will be available.

Asking questions

During the live sessions, each presenter at the Conference will say if they are able to take questions throughout the live session or if questions will need to wait until the end.  We intend to allow time for questions where the session is virtual (for both in-person and virtual delegates) but this may not always be possible.

All sessions within the virtual programme will be recorded and available to delegates who attend in-person also to view post-event (from Monday 30 May 2022) and on-demand until Friday 29 July 2022.

All recordings will be hosted on the Cvent Attendee Hub, and you will be sent a link to access this platform in advance of the event.  When logging in to view the content simply enter your first name, surname and email address.  Following this you will be sent a login code to your email address to access the system. This login is unique to you and should not be shared with others.

Each session within the virtual programme will be listed within the Cvent Attendee Hub platform. Simply select the one you want to watch and click the view button.
