After careful consideration, feedback from delegates and in light of the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, we have once again taken the difficult decision to postpone the Historical Association Annual Conference and this will now take place on Friday 13 & Saturday 14 May 2022 at the Bristol Marriott Hotel. It is hoped by then we will be in a better position to enable us to provide an experience that members deserve in a safe environment.
It is important to state that the balance of risk was factored heavily into this decision. We have always put the health and safety of all participants at the heart of any decision we have made, and we will continue to do so moving forward but we also needed to consider the bigger picture and the risks for our vulnerable members and the risks that would be involved with a large gathering of those working in education. In particular, the impact that this could have on schools, considering the disruption our young people are experiencing. The HA concluded that the safest option for everybody was to postpone the event.
We have contacted all delegates that had booked for the event and offered the opportunity to choose from one of the following options:
- Cancel your booking for the Bristol Marriott May 2021 Conference and arrange for a full refund of your payment now
- Cancel your booking for the Bristol Marriott May 2021 Conference but book a space onto the Virtual HA Conference May 2021 and arrange for a partial refund (see more information on this and ticket prices here)
- Cancel your booking and book a space onto the Bristol Marriott 13 & 14 May 2022 conference and transfer the payment across

If you had booked accommodation at the Bristol Marriott Hotel on Friday 14 & Saturday 15 May 2021 this will be automatically cancelled so you do not need to do anything. If you choose to attend the conference in May 2022 you would need to rebook and details of how to do this will be available at later stage.
