Information for Delegates

COVID-19/CORONAVIRUS

After careful consideration, feedback from delegates and in light of the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, we have taken the difficult decision to postpone the Historical Association Annual Conference again and this will now be moved from Friday 13 & Saturday 14 November 2020 and take place Friday 14 & Saturday 15 May 2021 at the Bristol Marriott Hotel. It is hoped by then we will be in a better position to enable us to provide an experience that members deserve in a safe environment.

It is important to state that the balance of risk was factored heavily into this decision. We have always put the health and safety of all participants at the heart of any decision we have made and we will continue to do so moving forward but we also needed to consider the bigger picture and the risks for our vulnerable members and the risks that would be involved with a large gathering of those working in education. In particular, the impact that this could have on schools, considering the disruption our young people are experiencing. The HA concluded that the safest option for everybody was to postpone the event.

If you are happy to move your booking over to Friday 14 & Saturday 15 May 2021 your registration will automatically be applied to the new date. However, if you had rebooked accommodation for November 2020 with the Marriott Hotel Bristol this will be automatically cancelled but you will need to rebook the bedroom for May 2021, using this link.

If you are not able to attend the May 2021 dates or would prefer to cancel and obtain a full refund for your booking, please email conference@history.org.uk and we will arrange this for you.

We realise that the HA Conference May 2021 is a little way off so the HA are pleased to announce it will be hosting an online, interactive conference in November 2020 offering many learning opportunities including keynote speakers, age group specific workshops as well as a lecturer series. It will also be supported with network opportunities from the safety of homes and offices. Further details will be available in September.

Please once again do accept our apologies for this additional change, if you do have any queries, then please either email conference@history.org.uk or call 01904 702165 between 09.00-17.00 Monday to Friday.
