When can I book for the conference?

Booking will open mid January 2024 and will be open until Saturday 11 May 2024. In the meantime, you can register your interest by emailing conference@history.org.uk.

Can I book for the conference but not attend the live sessions?

Yes, you can book for the conference and not watch the live sessions and just access the content on demand post event up until Saturday 31 August 2024.

Can I share my HA virtual conference login information with other colleagues?

We ask you not to do this. Each person will be listed individually and allowed into the conference only if they are registered to attend. With that said, there is nothing stopping you from allowing your colleagues to enjoy the conference right next to you from wherever you are viewing the event!

What happens if I change my mind and what to attend in person?

Subject to there being places still available you can move to attend in-person up until Wednesday 10 May 2023. Please email conference@history.org.uk in order to do this and you will be required to pay the different in the cost of the ticket.

What platform will the conference be held on?

The live sessions will be hosted using Zoom Webinars. You will access this via Oxford Abstracts, by registering to attend the conference you will be automatically set up with access.

How do I log in?

In order to log in to Oxford Abstracts, you will be sent a link to access this in advance and simply enter a password.

Do I need to have a Zoom account to access the conference?

The live element of the Conference will be hosted on Zoom. If you haven’t used Zoom before, we recommend you register for a free account here and download the software onto your computer or device in preparation for the live element of the conference. If you already have a Zoom account, please make sure you have downloaded the most recent update of the software.

For the best experience we recommend participating on a computer or tablet rather than a smartphone.

How secure is Zoom?

All meetings are encrypted with AES 256 bit GCM encryption. Zoom have made end-to-end encryption of meetings available to create a highly secure meeting environment. The HA Conference will only be available to those that have registered to attend.

Signing up for sessions
As a virtual delegate there is no need to sign up in advance to which virtual session you want to attend. Simply login and select on the day which session you would like to attend, and you can change your mind and join another if you choose at last minute.

Joining the live sessions

When will I receive joining instructions for the live sessions?
You will be sent final joining instructions with a link to access the platform by Friday 3 May 2024, if you have registered before this time. If you register after this time, this will be sent within your confirmation email immediately.
Who do I contact if I do not receive the joining instructions?

I cannot access the event, what should I do?

If you are having trouble accessing the event on the day, please call +44 (0) 1904 702165 or email conference@history.org.uk.

How do I join a session?
When logging into Oxford Abstracts the programme will load, simply click on the session you want to join, then press the join button that will show at the top of this page which will connect you to Zoom session.

Will there be an opportunity to ask questions during the live sessions?
During the live sessions, delegates will be able to ask questions, although most questions will not be answered until the end of each session. Please be aware speakers will do their best to answer all questions but depending on volume and other activities planned for the live element this may not be possible.

Will the session recordings be available after the conference?

All sessions within the virtual programme will be recorded and available to view post event on demand until Saturday 31 August 2024.

CPD certificates will be provided for all attendees as a download within the post event email.
